A Spring Poll 2013

To celebrate the Equinox and first day of Spring today, I have a poll!

Vote for your favorite Spring bird by the evening of Wednesday, March 27th, and I will post the results on Thursday, March 28th. Thank you!

  1. The call of Canada Geese flying overhead in flocks is a strong reminder that spring is in the air. I almost put AmericanTree Sparrow cuz I saw my first one last spring and am looking forward to seeing it again. But lifelong experience? Canada Goose.

    • In northeast Tennessee, we have Canada Geese and Horned Larks all winter. The Tree Swallow, however, is one of our earliest non-wintering birds to return each spring from more southern areas. So here, when I see our first Tree Swallows (returning earlier each year now it seems), I know that spring is not far behind.
