Featherless on Friday

A neighbor has left eight bales out in her field since harvest in September and even though they are right next to some acreages, about 20 Whitetail Deer visit them daily and eat their fill. The deer have become so accustom to the people driving by that they barely look up anymore. There are woods nearby for shelter, and the deer spend all day going between the woods and bales.

When I was out birding earlier this week, deer stopped long enough for me to get some photographs,

  1. Oh, love the deer! Last year when birding in Milk River area I came across 6 Elk in the middle of the prairie grasslands. Then just down the dirt road, a cougar sleeping in a roadside ditch!
